    About SEA Counselling

    Meet Sue Edwards-Akad

Hello, my name is Sue, and I’m a therapeutic counsellor. I’m passionate about supporting people through life’s challenges and helping them make sense of what’s going on in their lives so they can improve their mental health and wellbeing.

I use a person-centred, integrative approach, which means you guide the direction of the counselling process. I provide a safe, calm, and accepting space where you can explore the challenges you are facing, gain a better understanding of your thoughts and feelings, and develop ways to cope and move forward at your own pace.

“When someone really hears you without passing judgement, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good.” Carl Rogers

    Why Counselling?

There are many reasons you might be considering speaking with a counsellor. You may be feeling stuck, lost, overwhelmed, anxious, alone, or low in mood. These feelings can arise from significant life events, loss, health challenges, trauma, or simply the ongoing pressures of everyday life.

Whatever your situation, it’s important to remember that everyone’s experience is unique. A counsellor can provide one-to-one support tailored specifically to you, offering a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

Counselling can help in many ways, including:

    • Processing difficult feelings or trauma
    • Understanding emotional neglect
    • Breaking unhelpful patterns
    • Developing greater self-awareness
    • Navigating challenging relationships
    • Adjusting to major life changes
    • Boosting self-esteem and confidence
    • Coping with grief and loss

    How I Can Help

I offer one-to-one counselling in a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space. My approach is person-centred, meaning I focus on understanding you and supporting you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

Alongside counselling, I am also a trained life coach, so I can help you not only process challenges but also recognise your strengths, set achievable goals, and work towards positive change.

    What to expect?

I offer 50-minute counselling sessions, either face-to-face in the Wrexham area, online via secure video call, or over the phone. Sessions can be short- or long-term, depending on your needs, and we will review your progress regularly to ensure you are getting the support you need.

Each session costs £45. If you would like to find out more or arrange an appointment, please feel free to get in touch.
